I have exactly the same problem with TSM client 5.5.0.0. I found a workaround* to clean up the files of the C:\ADSM.SYS\VSS_STAGING directory, but nothing for the C:\ADSM.SYS\SystemExcludeCache__*.TsmCacheDB files... so I don't know whether it is safe to delete them using a post-schedule command.
