A default backup gets the permissions and a default restore restores the permissions. Assuming the node has access to the accounts with permission to the files it should work. What commands did you use to backup and restore? Did you restore the OS? Was the node a member of the domain when you checked the permissions? Are the groups/accounts local or global?
