Hi, Thanx for the info. Seems to be not only limited to virtual tape libraries. Got a I2000 complaining bout unmatching labels. Just checked, library is configured to relabel scratch volumes (why, I do really not know):
Serial Number: ADIC203100978_LL1 AutoLabel: OVERWRITE Relabel Scratch: Yes Lately it is giving a lot of : 11/17/2008 2:35:28 PM ANR8808E Could not write label XXXXX on the volume in drive DH2_131 (/dev/rmt0) of library ADIC because that volume is already labeled with YYYYY which is still defined in a storage pool or volume history. This parameter seems to be buggy. In our TSM Server environment the complete TSM (virtual) tape inventory seems to be shuffled. The fact is that tape labels are not written to the tape volumes correctly. That means that the physical written tape labels do NOT match the barcode of a tape volume within the TSM inventory. In our case some restore job could not be started because the incorrect tape volume was mounted for this restore session. The session was stopped because the data was unavailable to server, seen in the activity log. The IBM support team (tech 2) is working on this issue but I?d guess it needs some time to find a permanent solution. So please do not set the parameter 'RELABELSCRATCH' to 'YES' in order to avoid the same situation like we have now on 11 TSM servers now.
