Andy, I tried your suggestions with the same results. I'm running the commands from my desktop, not from the server that is performing the backup. That is why I'm using the -nodename option. (the client level is the same on both machines)
I went to source machine (CT100) and the command worked fine, for both the drive local to CT100 and the remote share backed up by CT100.
