Joni, Could it be that you have some script issuing a command like "delete volhist todate=today-X type=dbbackup", having X < 20 (actual DRM setting for DB backup expiration days) ? If yes, then the volumes are left "orphaned" in DRM, and thus never expiring, IIRC.
