Use a backup set. This creates a tape with data already stored in TSM
which can be exported from the library and kept for as long as you wish.
You don't even need TSM to restore the data from the backup set you
create, only the client software is needed and someway to read the tape.
We do this to keep a long term backup of clients we drop from TSM. I then
manually recycle the tapes per our policy.

Subject
[ADSM-L] TDP Exc Backup full to empty tape

Hi list,

I need to perform a full backup from a MS Exchange Server using TDP for
Exchange. However, I need to do it on a empty tape, outside the regular
scheduled backup operations.

Can I do this from the command line? Is there any parameter that I can use
to specify that the data from this particular operation should be written
on a empty tape? I have to send this tape away, with only this data on it.

I am running TSM Server 5.4, TDP for Exchange 5.3.3 and I have an
automated library.

Thanks in advance.

Mario
