Look in the dsmsched.log file. You will see the notation EXPIRING whenever TSM detects that a file it had previously backed up, is no longer on the drive. (The term EXPIRING is a bit misleading. It doesn't mean TSM has deleted the backups of the file; it means TSM has detected the file is gone, and starts counting the days until the management class says the backups are to be purged for deleted files.)
