I don't understand the question. What do you mean by "winNt 5+" ?

The code change went into the version 6.2, and I expect it will also show
up in later 6.1 maintenance. It enforces the idea that a backslash must
come after the drive letter separator ':' on Windows. Since the other
supported platforms don't use a drive separator, it affects only Windows
platforms, regardless of which Windows operating system you are using.
