Richard, that was just a lot insulting. not growing as a professional?? i have a responsibility to provide my boss with a system that delivers at optimal performance in a timely way with as little management cost as possible.
Please don't patronize me because truthfully there are far more people using NBU than TSM and if you were asked to make the switch you would probably just walk out and leave them high and dry (not that i believe that, but you see what kind of emotion that generates for you). I'm willing to give TSM a day in court, but I'm not sure that the "benefits" outweigh the risks given our situation. They pay me a lot of money to deliver fast restores and, if i compare the soup to nuts, NBU is better at that and requires far less overhead and administrative actions. To get NBU to the standard I would like however, I have to invest time and money, and to leave TSM and tweak it was/is an option i would consider if it could be done in a cheaper faster way. I've not seen anyone give me any actual evidence that its possible given that this particular TSM install was done incorrectly and would need to be torn out in either case. Please don't belittle me as a professional, you don't know me, my capabilities or my desire to get the job done. Perhaps if you could offer me more than "1500 people in the mailing list are using TSM for their sites needs" I might better understand your viewpoint, but NBU is not a poor product nor an inferior product and my employers hired me knowing where my expertise was. If you have a case of superiority to make, make it, but don't attack me with your assertions because I can tell you they aren't compelling. +---------------------------------------------------------------------- |This was sent by [email protected] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [email protected]. +----------------------------------------------------------------------
