Is is technically feasible to put the tablespace of a database on an HSM-managed filesystem? For example, if there are some rarely-accesed huge tables, is it possible/feasible to define their tablespace(s) on a disk space that can be migrated to tape by HSM?
Feasable, yes. Advisable, probably not. The 1st question that would arise is how long the app is prepared to wait/be blocked for while the data is retrieved. Steven
