Support extensions will be required after that. Looked to me like a unofficial EOS notice. That being said, I had folks that installed both 6.3 and 6.4 clients on W2K3 and W2K8 servers and backed up to a 5.5 server, with no problems we are aware of. Yes, it isn't a supported configuration but if you don't have a choice, what do you do?
