It is apparently available in both 32 and 64 bit versions, since Microsoft provides instructions for finding out whether a Windows 7 system is 32 or 64 bit. Following these instructions revealed that the copy on my workstation is 64 bit. I was able to install the 64 bit 6.2.4.0 client successfully. Thank you for your assistance.
