Pop-quiz for you Linux folks out there - how much damage does this command do:
chown -R <someuser> / So to ask the question in the subject of this post, Can TSM restore JUST the file attributes/permissions/ownership, after fixing TSM of course? Or your thoughts on how to undo the damage. My Linux guy says you can use RPM to reset "a large number of file attributes" for packages it installed, to the original install value, but that doesn't fix it all! -- *Zoltan Forray* TSM Software & Hardware Administrator Hobbit / Xymon Administrator Virginia Commonwealth University UCC/Office of Technology Services [email protected] - 804-828-4807 Don't be a phishing victim - VCU and other reputable organizations will never use email to request that you reply with your password, social security number or confidential personal information.
