If you are running the TSM Backup Client on any current Windows platform, be sure to check out Microsoft Windows patch 3092627. It claims to fix a hang in Tivoli Storage Manager (among other specific programs listed in the MS document). The hang was apparently introduced by MS Security Patch 3076895.
The fixing patch, 3092627, is included in today's "2nd Tuesday" updates.
