We use NFS for large (>500TB) device classes. (on Data Domain, not isilon though) File device class is the way to go. Just review the NFS performance settings and get the best practice stuff from EMC for your implementation (i.e. trunked 10gb connections might have different settings than 1gb)

Anybody doing this kind of configuration? I have concerns since it will be connecting >300TB via NFS mount to use for the TSM storage. I am assuming it will be best to define the stgpool as a FILE format? -- *Zoltan Forray* TSM Software & Hardware Administrator Xymon Monitor Administrator VMware Administrator (in training) Virginia Commonwealth University UCC/Office of Technology Services www.ucc.vcu.edu [email protected] - 804-828-4807 Don't be a phishing victim - VCU and other reputable organizations will never use email to request that you reply with your password, social security number or confidential personal information.
