That raised almost as many questions as it answered, at least for me. In particular, I always hearken back to Dianne Hackborn's epic StackOverflow answer regarding measuring memory usage (http://stackoverflow.com/a/2299813/115145), which leads off with this warning: "Note that memory usage on modern operating systems like Linux is an extremely complicated and difficult to understand area. In fact the chances of you actually correctly interpreting whatever numbers you get is extremely low." So, for example, the page you link to refers to "avg_pss", which presumably is average PSS, but then... averaged over what? The process lifetime? The 3/6/12/24 hour window, literally? The time shown at the top of the Process Stats window, which may not necessarily resemble the 3/6/12/24 hour value? Something else? > But yeah, I don't see any detailed docs for procstats. Having numbers beats having no numbers. However, having undocumented numbers is like giving a hammer to a two-year-old... :-) Thanks, though! -- Mark Murphy (a Commons Guy) http://commonsware.com | http://github.com/commonsguy http://commonsware.com/blog | http://twitter.com/commonsguy _The Busy Coder's Guide to Android Development_: Version 5.4...
