The whole universe functions as one. How can there be any separate unity (with 
it's own will) within this endless space in which all particles react between 
themselves by certain physical laws?

What I understand as cosmic law is that everything happens according to 
chemical/physical properties of atoms, molecules, energy, interactions between 
these. A deterministic view if you will.
