I think you are refering to Scott Ambler's persistence layer he outlined in his
very interesting talks on OR mapping.  I do remember him suggesting that nobody
should actually try to build their own from his model (I also made a brief
attempt at implementing it in java).  Scott Ambler suggested TopLink at the
time.  I have been interested in OR layers for a few years now, and have been
sadly disapointed in every one though especially disapointed in the EJB Entity
bean approach to this problem.  I would also be interested in what you come up
with.
