Ok now this is just plain ridiculous, when I run the code I get an invalid cast exception, if I take the same code and execute it in the immediate window, it works, and the cast goes through perfectly, is this a bug, or an overzealous security checkpoint or something like that? Why would it work in the immediate window but not anywhere else, obviously the .NET runtime has no problem with the cast, why should C# have a problem?
