actually i had iis installed before the .net framework
should i still uninstall and re-install?

the fastest way to reslove it, is that u reinatall the DOT Net Framework
once again, becuase I am sure you would have installed IIS after installing
DOT NET, that's y the dot net installer was unable to configure your
webserver...

Hi There,
I am new to DOTNET.
I am a Java Developer wanting to move to .NET. I am stilling in the early
stages of learning .NET.
I have installed Visual Studio .NET 2003.
I, also, have NetBeans IDE, Sun ONE Studio and J2SE installed on my pc(XP
Pro OS).
Now I have attempted the following and I get an error(stated below):
In Visual Studio .NET 2003:
Select
File->New->Project->Visual Basic Projects->ASP.NET Web Applications
Error:
'Visual Studio has detected that the specified Web server is not running
ASP.NET 1.1. You will be unable to run ASP.NET Web applications or
services.'
I don't understand this error.
Does this error have anything to do with the fact that I have Java
software installed?
Please explain why I get the above error?
And; how to fix it?
Note; I have IISv5.1 installed successfully.
I would sincerely appreciate anyone's advice/help as I am desperate to
beginning my .NET ventures!
