Bill. Yes, Aaron's article is talking about Thinktexture's WS-ContractFirst VS.Net plugin, and has been around for a while now (a new version should be out any day now).
I've been talking about Sending Messages Not Serialized Object Graphs: http://donxml.com/allthingstechie/archive/2005/02/10/1776.aspx for a while now. At the Philly Code Camp I gave this presentation on the topic: http://donxml.com/presentations/SerializingMessages.ppt . So you are heading in the right direction. I agree that hand coding WSDL is not an option, but totally relying on a Contract First approach isn't as perfect as one may think. Dare has 2 excellent posts on the topic: http://www.25hoursaday.com/weblog/PermaLink.aspx?guid=e1ab8978-f0a9-4913-bee3-badc1cbefbe5 and http://www.25hoursaday.com/weblog/PermaLink.aspx?guid=e17a8a0e-d5c1-4b5d-9e37-78793f518601 which takes on Aaron's contract first article. If anyone is interested in talking about this stuff, in person, I'll be at TechEd (along with guys like Christoph Schittko and Christiam Weyer, the guys that wrote the WSCF plugin)). We would love to hang out and chat about it. You can find us in either the DBA Cabana or the Architecture Cabana.
