Erick, This is somewhat off-topic but...
If you want to do full-blown articles, you'll get maximum exposure by posting them on codeguru.com. You cannot do blog-type content there though, and the marketing value of your good writing will be diminished (there are a lot of other writers there, and even those readers who like your writing a lot will quickly forget your name); you really need a blog if you want to capture an audience with good articles, and then be able to feed them the occasional commercial plug now and then. Another good way to approach the problem would be to set up a blog somewhere - anywhere - then write a few good articles (refrain from posts like "yesterday I visited my grandma and it was fun"). Participate a lot in professional forums, give advice to others and always sign your postings with a link to your blog. It's a good guerilla marketing tool - less people will notice your content (much less than on codeguru, in fact) but a lot of them will subscribe and become regular readers. [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Erick Thompson Sent: Saturday, September 10, 2005 1:53 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [ADVANCED-DOTNET] Best site for a new programming blog Good evening everyone, I am doing some interesting stuff, especially with SQL 2005, and I'd like to have a blog to post about it, and share some of problems and solutions. I know there are as many blog sites as there are pebbles on the beach, but I want one that is not expensive, can host articles as well as blogs, and caters to a technical community. Joining weblogs.asp.net would be perfect, except I can't get a hold of Scott via the contact page (there is an error). Does anyone have any suggestions?
