I have a single VS2005 open with zero projects open, zero addins loaded (et cetera), I've never had one of the betas installed on this machine, and VS2005 is taking up 66/52 (mb ram/vmem). Add one project and it's 90/68. Close the project and it goes down to 88/66. Create a new Windows Application project and it's 107/76.
Don't listen to Frans, it's not your fault for having betas installed. VS2005 is a memory hog, plain and simple. And worse yet, it appears to behave itself on some peoples' machines, which is why you get the occasional "it works fine on my box" junk.
