I think you're closing your eyes for one type of evil to be able to say
another type of evil is bad.
The code in the itemdatabound event handlers is often crap as well,
with the findcontrol calls: that code is depending on
the exact layout of the HTML, making it strongly coupled with that HTML.
Furthermore, when you want to write HTML on your own, you know in your
special controls, you had all kinds of write routines
in the code which spit out strings with HTML tags... also not my way of doing
HTML.
In short: for code which has to be in teh code behind, you still can.
For code which has to be inside the HTML, also still
can.
I don't see the problem. ASP.NET isn't a struts framework, it's not
pure MVC.
