I was referring more to the rest (I am not real familiar with db40). Saying nhibernate or gentle.net is a viable alternative to a prevalence layer is like saying that ASP.NET is a viable alternative to winforms :) Given it can be but you are taking a big architectural jump.
There was a release of bamboo in late 2005 but from reading it looks like he has moved on. I also noticed the prevlayer site no longer works. Perhaps its time to create another open source prevalence layer? On 10/7/06, Doug Holton <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

Look at db4o again. It is like prevalence. That's why I listed it first. It is much more up to date, plus it is developed in part by the same author as bamboo prevalence. I then listed other related alternatives such as castle's activerecord because, as I mentioned, db4o costs money if you are not using it in a gpl application. > As for using bamboo its pretty straight forward (the examples cover it > fairly well). > > As a good starting point I would suggest > http://codeproject.com/cs/database/BambooMigrationKit.asp Again as I said, it hasn't been developed in years. You'll notice that codeproject article itself is 3 years old. That's why I listed some other alternatives that are still actively maintained. =================================== This list is hosted by DevelopMentor(r) http://www.develop.com View archives and manage your subscription(s) at http://discuss.develop.com
