Thanks for the reply Curt, I had originally suspected that I needed to be in the "User" account (since that is where the map was created), however I cannot get the service to install under that account (invalid user and/or pass) even though I am logged in as an admin, and I provided my user / pass (either in code, or during the install process). After flailing awhile, I found several different threads that stated that services could not do this (one even in the msdn forums ...) and moved on ...
I will research my log in issue and go from there ... Thanks, Rob Lee -----Original Message----- From: Discussion of advanced .NET topics. There's no reason your service can't be logged in with credentials that allow access to the network drive. It's just that "LocalSystem" doesn't have such credentials. -- Curt Hagenlocher [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================== This list is hosted by DevelopMentorR http://www.develop.com View archives and manage your subscription(s) at http://discuss.develop.com =================================== This list is hosted by DevelopMentorĀ® http://www.develop.com View archives and manage your subscription(s) at http://discuss.develop.com
