To the best of my knowledge that is the only way. I know that we distribute the xml files for our libraries to the integrators we work with, and the custom components that we have purchased have the xml files distributed with the component.

This appears to have cleared up the issue. I put the XML file where the assembly was located and it started working after I restarted visual studio. I do have this question though. Is creating the XML file the only way to get those comments to show up in the assembly? Is there another way? -----Original Message----- From: Russell Collins Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2007 11:04 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'; 'Discussion of advanced .NET topics.' Subject: RE: [ADVANCED-DOTNET] VS 2005 Comments Thanks, but that did not clear up the problem. One more thing, I am able to see comments from regular .NET assemblies, just not the custom created ones. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert Lee Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2007 10:54 AM To: 'Discussion of advanced .NET topics.' [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Russell Collins Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2007 11:48 AM To: ADVANCED-DOTNET@DISCUSS.DEVELOP.COM Subject: [ADVANCED-DOTNET] VS 2005 Comments I am having an issue with assembly creation and VS2005. I create assembly "A" using C# XML comments "///". I then compile the library into a .dll. I take that .dll library and use it in another project "B". I have no problems using the assembly. The issue is that I cannot see the comments I wrote in assembly "A" in project "B". Is there something that I need to do to get those comments to show up?? =================================== This list is hosted by DevelopMentor. http://www.develop.com View archives and manage your subscription(s) at http://discuss.develop.com =================================== This list is hosted by DevelopMentor(r) http://www.develop.com View archives and manage your subscription(s) at http://discuss.develop.com =================================== This list is hosted by DevelopMentor. http://www.develop.com View archives and manage your subscription(s) at http://discuss.develop.com =================================== This list is hosted by DevelopMentorĀ® http://www.develop.com View archives and manage your subscription(s) at http://discuss.develop.com
