Do you 'understand' the protocol used by PHost? What I mean is the normal broadcast address is xxx.xxx.255.255 (ex 192.168.1.255), would Phost recognize properly formatted packets sent this way? ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_address )
