All, I am programming an AJAX based app, and I need to create a server-side event queue. Each browser will be polling the server for new events and passing the last EventID that it has received. I need a data structure that can be queried for any eventid greater than the one being supplied by the browser. Also, the event queue can expire certain events once all of the browsers have received them, or to make it simpler, it could just be a rolling window of the last 20 events. I haven't done any programming with messaging queues before, so I'm totally at a loss as to where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
