Didn't see that until now - but I'm usually careful not to chain too many dialogs, I think focus handling get's a bit confused if it has to handle too many isTemporary events (just a blind guess). In your case would it be an option to use a wizard-like dialog right from the start? Just one dialog with cardlayout?
