Our Swing app is performing reasonably well. However it isn't as snappy as it might be and Swing's runtime footprint is huge, as are all the other things our users typically are running at the same time. We have seen some performance improvements running the jvm with the no incremental garbage collection switched on. Actually it wasn't so much a performace improvement but our app stopped hanging for 20 seconds at unpredictable times (like in the middle of a demo). We have also played with the heap settings, and a minimum of 5 or 10 MB was a big improvement over the default (2MB I think?). We have worked hard to write tight code and are looking for other ways to improve performance. Are there other jvm settings that are worth exploring? Are there things that can be done to the rt.jar that would help? Thanks in advance for your time. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
