Have you looked at this method of JComponent?

public void setVerifyInputWhenFocusTarget(boolean flag)

It allows you to (selectively) override the behavior of the field with the
InputVerfifier. You might try calling setVerifyInputWhenFocusTarget(false)
on the cancel button in your dialog.

Subject: not able to "Cancel"..

Hi all,
        i use InputVerifier for validating my text fields. if the text field
contains invalid characters i display a dialog. i also have "ok" and
"cancel" button. now if i enter some invalid characters in the field and
press cancel, the error dialog is displayed and i am not able to perform the
"cancel" operation. but if i don't display the dialog then the cancel
operation works fine.

thanks in advance
jaspreet
