how to use Highlighter on text of a cell

Can anyone simply tell me how to use the Highlighter in a cell of a jTable? 
What I want to do is to highlight the containing text of the cell 
automaticlly when the cell gains focus. Once the user keys in some text, the 
previous highlighted text is gone. The user does not need to highlight the 
text using mouse.
