Try asking at http://www.pascalgamedevelopment.com. There are a lot of very clever game developers there, many who straddle the Windows and Linux platforms with Delphi/FreePascal. While there are lots of DirectX/OpenGL users there, there are some who don't use that. Join the forum and ask the same question there. Or give some specific examples to similar types of games that you're interested in, and I'd suspect that someone could point you to some source code that would help.
