I have experience using the Wise Installation System and the Wise for Windows
Installer (parts of Wise Package Studio), and they will register OCX or TLB
items, but I don't think InstallShield Express will do it.

You may have to write your own installer or, have a module (separate .exe)
which runs when your app runs, which will properly register your components for
you.

I tend to shy away from using any OCX/Active X controls, especially when
deploying to unknown computer systems.

I like to stay with straight VCL components.

You will end up doing a ton of work trying to troubleshoot problems that are
not caused by your app, but are caused by settings in your target systems.XFX

+0000Subject: [advanced_delphi] DirectSS Text-To-Speech Component dependency

I have isolated the dependency as follows for the DirectSS text-to-speech
component.vcauto.TLB and vtxtauto.TLB are not getting registered during
installation. They require the associated DLL or OCX. I have tried to work out
these. I am unable to get any further information on this. If I had a full
version of Installshield Express probably the task will be simplified for me by
the dependency functionality of the program. Are there any freeware versions of
a good dependency checker tool for Delphi? I have tried to use Process monitor
tool. It did help to some extent. However even if I plough through all the
hundreds of DLL's I think it will be hard to locate.Thanx-in-AdvanceAnu Rang,
