I use the DevExpress VCL and have a subscription with source to the entire
product line. I don't use .Net, so I can't comment on that.

The VCL support is superb, especially if you buy the subscription. The
subscription is pretty pricey though.

If you don't subscribe, peer support on their forums is pretty good.

As a subscriber, I typically get less than one-day-turnaround on most questions
or trouble reports. Tech support will frequently send code snippets to
demonstrate a workaround or best practices, or analyze my broken code in
response to questions or trouble reports.

Their tech support never gives you snide answers like another component company
I can think of that will go unmentioned. (AtoZed). Oops, it just slipped out,
honest ;-)

I get updated components from DevExpress about 6 times a year. They add new
stuff and fix buglets all the time.

The DevExpress VCL documentation is good and they ship lots of fairly useful
examples you can use as templates, so most of the time you don't need much
support.

The learning curve is pretty steep - DevExpress DB grids work very differently
than the run of the mill Delphi DB grids and it takes a while to get up to
speed. That being said, it is well worth the effort.

All the components I have used (most of their VCL libary) have been very solid.
I remain a big fan and use it daily on two separate 1.4 million lines of code
Delphi projects.

No, I don't work for them :-)

HTH!
