You're entitled to your opinion. I state that you're wrong about it, but obviously I don't expect you to believe. > I think you damn well know > that the OpenBSD project was left in the dark intentionally. I know this is Theo's opinion. Now I also know this is your opinion. I really don't know why the OpenBSD project was left in the dark. I can guess, like anyone else could. When guessing like that, people arrive at different conclusions based on their prejudices or lack thereof. That's to be expected. I choose not to arrive at any conclusion based on mere guesses, and you blame me for that. I know that such guesses are very often wrong. I'm sometimes accused of who-knows-what (luckily not often, though), like I am by you now. Since I actually know that I am not lying, this only confirms to me that people can guess wrongly, and can accuse wrongly. That's life. I prefer not to be among those accusing based on guesses, even when those guesses seem very plausible. > Stop talking about embargoes. > There never was one and you know it. That's not what I know. > You are intentionally trying to deceive. No, I'm not. Look, in these recent e-mails I tried to support you (OpenBSD and LibreSSL) in establishing a way for OpenSSL to be notifying you (if you want that). It's not a pleasant role, but I was dragged into it by volunteering to host this distros list some years back, and now by Theo's request to comment. I didn't decline either - I genuinely want to help, despite of the attacking tone of some of the e-mails you guys sent to me (although I've also received several in support, off-list). I guess I'll stop now. I've said all that needed to be said. The rest, like this message, is, frankly, just extra words. You should really work with the OpenSSL project directly. Attacking someone who was dragged into a middleman role isn't going to help. Alexander
