I like doing math symbolically with Maxima and other tools with OpenBSD.
And generally prefer to support the Firefox browser. Often I have to
refer to the Maxima manual to fine tune the process, or just to get the
automatic simplification behaving the way I want.

I've noticed, however, that FireFox does not seem to render fixed fonts
correctly when looking at pages of the Maxima manual and am wondering if
there is something I can do with either the Firefox configuration, or
better setup of the font libraries in X, to fix the problem. It should be
obvious, right? But the same link using Chrome renders perfectly.

However my guesses at what to do have not been helpful so far. A little
glitch, where a couple of spaces seem to be missing on lines where
exponents occur in the pretty print output for Maxima examples, has been
there for many years.

Currently I am using "amd64 OpenBSD 6.8". I doubt if there has been a
change in 6.9

The two attachments above show screen captures from:

With first Firefox, and then with Chrome.

Any opinion? Or do I have to complain to Mozilla itself?
