Hello mailing list readers,

I recently deployed my first customer workload running on OpenBSD, and

I couldn't be happier.

I'm coming from a Linux background, but have spent many years "reading"

about BSD (mainly OpenBSD (since 6.5), as it aligns with my penchant for

security and privacy). I began self-hosting a home lab running OpenBSD

7.5, and just deployed 7.8 for a customer.

Once I had configured hostname.if(5), pf(4), login.conf(5), and

adduser.conf(5) successfully, a rush of dopamine hit me and I knew I

couldn't go back to deploying Linux anytime soon.

Documentation (via manpages) was the greatest tool in getting over any

bumps along the way. Everything is so compactly and exhaustively

detailed that I rarely had to web search for solving issues.

Thank you to all OpenBSD developers, hackers, bloggers, and conference

presenters who have helped me get this far.

Cheers
