Just following some links for XML stuff and saw this "XML Script" thing

  http://www.xmlscript.org/

Writing XML Script is the best way to create,
read or convert XML data. XML Script is an
  XML-compliant scripting language that has
been developed to handle XML with a minimum
  of overhead.

Hmmm, I wonder what the advantages are... well they talk about it a bit and then
 they say

X-Tract is quicker to install than Perl,
and easier to use than Java...
and you can download it for free.

So there you go... "quicker to install" (presumably they haven't seen the
ActiveState install) is about the only thing a specialised single-purpose tool
they can claim over Perl !

I think that's a moral victory to Perl....

Tim
