Nah, probably not. But it is pretty cool :)

I'm not sure this is exactly on topic but ...

The situation is that I have what I think is a _very_ powerful tool for
database related programming. Among other things, its a data modeller as
well as an RDBMS-OO mapper. It also helps you do data caching and lots of
other cool stuff. Those of you at the Perl conference may remember me
talking about it. Its still in alpha but it works pretty well and has a
lot of growth potential.

Anyway, I've been in alpha and have done a number of releases but AFAIK
I'm still the only person using it. I find it hard to believe that
there's nobody out there who could use it besides me.

So how is this an advocacy topic? I'm getting to that, really ;)

It's advocacy related because there's a lot of talk about killer apps for
language (if I hear the word Zope again I'll barf. oops, <hurl>).
Anyway, while is probably not _the_ killer app for Perl, its nothing to
sneeze at either. It works in one of Perl's established domains,
databases, and provides a huge level of functionality that didn't exist
previously.

So my question is how do I best promote this thing? I think its good for
Perl because its got the potential to make database related development in
Perl much much easier. How did previous major apps (mod_perl comes to
mind) get initial visibility?

Anyway, if this is too off-topic (I realize its somewhat marginal) I'd
appreciate suggestions for other forums to promote this (I've already gone
through the POOP lists and Freshmeat). If that too is off-topic please
send them off-list.

Oh yeah, for those interested the project is Alzabo
(alzabo.sourceforge.net).
