If you type "perlmongers" into your browser, it will attempt to take you
to http://www.perlmongers.com. Until recently, this was a billboard page
for Smith Renaud (brian d foy's employer, AFAIK). In response to a
suggestion that the page should be a redirect to pm.org, brian decided to
disable the URL from responding at all.
This is arguably an improvement over Smith Renaud advertising, but it
still isn't optimal. If a Perl newbie is trying to find the Perl Mongers,
why not give them a push in the right direction?
So, at the risk of further annoying brian (whom I class as one of the Good
Guys, even if I think he is wrong on this issue), I thought I'd bring the
topic up for general discussion...
