I've been hearing an interesting radio ad recently for an online hi-tech job search site called "dice.com".  Perl is the only programming language the ad mentions by name... the complete phrase is "you could program Perl in Palo Alto" (although by far the best phrase of the ad is "download a 30K upgrade right into your wallet").

As you may have gathered, the radio ad is quite unabashedly materialistic, as is a magazine ad I've seen from the same company, featuring a smugly smiling dice.com customer who "tripled his income in one week.  In 6 months I plan to 'click the dice' again and look for even more money".  I'm not sure that's the image we want to connect with Perl... but then again, maybe it is!   :)    Any thoughts on the significance (or lack thereof) of this particular Perl connection?
