One should realize that Sun isn't in the business of selling Operating
Systems. I don't think any Unix vendor really is. They sell hardware,
that's where they make their money from.

Dump Sun in favour of Linux? What exactly do you mean by that? Linux is
an operating system, usually run on Intel or Intellike hardware. Sun is
a hardware producer. I don't understand what you mean.
Also, if you think Sun is against open source software, how do you
explain that products like Perl, gcc, bash, Apache, and Gnome either
come with a default install of Solaris 8, are available as extra package,
or will come with Solaris 9? Perl is *vital* for the Solaris 8 Operating
Environment to run as it's supposed to run. Gnome is sceduled to replace
CDE as the default desktop environment.
Do you have any actualy figures of how many companies replace their
Enterprise Sun machines with different hardware running Linux?
