Just start posting patches, additions and updates.  No massive
coordination effort required.  :-)

That's one way to approach the problem.  Another way is to make Perl
so damn useful that it actually becomes tough to do your job *without* Perl.

In the early days, Perl was such a boon to sysadmins and CGI
programmers that you were stupid NOT to use it.  Some say that Perl
is in a similar position today with genomics researchers.  Why not
continue in the tradition of past success instead of adopting tactics
from Sun and Microsoft that might not work with Free Software?

Certification is a huge can of worms that crops up here every so often.
