Hi John, Great to hear your company is considering Perl and that you're considering the ActivePerl distribution :)
>I'm insisting that >since the ActiveState port makes it easier to add modules, we should >go with it. You're correct, our port does make it easier. ActivePerl is distributed in pkgadd format on Solaris: http://downloads.ActiveState.com/ActivePerl/Solaris/5.6/ActivePerl-5.6.1 ..633-sun4-solaris.gz You just need to 'gzip -d' it, then pkgadd it. Alternatively, our commercially supported version of ActivePerl, PerlDirect, can also be distributed in a pkgadd format. PerlDirect is specifically designed to meet the needs of enterprise customers. More info is at http://www.ActiveState.com/Products/PerlDirect/more_information.plex Cheers, Lori Lori Pike Director Corporate Communications, ActiveState phone 604.484.6417 / cell 604.808.6655 http://www.ActiveState.com > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Monday, August 26, 2002 11:46 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: Sun pkg of Perl versus the ActiveState port > > > > > -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] on 08/26/02 10:50:34 -0400 > > > Hi, folks, > > > > We are in the home stretch of getting Perl on the "okay to use" > > list here. > > > > I have a minor problem, which someone on the list can probably > > help me on.
