My feeling is that this is a management decision rather than a technical one. Why is your company listening to what seems to be the least subjective person in the organisation? I would consider it a mistake that somebody is hired who has a loathing of the tool that your core development is done in. It seems sensible to use technologies such as SOAP to allow python applications to talk perl servers. Gavin.
