Just hitting reply is actually a subtly bad idea, even with a change of subject. Most mail programs put in headers to identify the message that has been replied to. For example, your copy of Outlook Express inserted this header: References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Many mailers (not sure about Outlook Express), and certainly many web archiving systems will then realise that your message is a reply to that message, and attempt to thread them together, even if the subject has changed. This causes confusion to the poor humans reading the threaded messages. It's a better idea to copy the address of the list from the old message, hit new message, and paste in the list address. This way, everything realises that you're starting a whole new thread, and no programs will get confused. Nicholas Clark -- INTERCAL better than perl? http://www.perl.org/advocacy/spoofathon/
