Hello, From speaking to the client library's maintainer, my understanding is that pyXML is being used by SOAPpy/ZSI to handle XML parsing in the current release. He's aware that there are more modern libraries that could handle the XML parsing, and will likely move to one of those in a future release. (Of course, it's an open source library, so feel free to poke around and adjust things yourself.)
I do believe that there are more than a handful of folks using the Python client library--but they can chime in for themselves if they'd like.
