I have found a previous posting that will give me more things to try.

If you are using the sandbox do not use your real developer and
application tokens, instead follow the instructions here:

http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/developer/adwords_api_sandbox.html

I am going to give this a try, and then update this posting.
